Measurement Tech B, Crude Oil.
Job Description:
Energy Transfer Partners is a master limited partnership that owns and operates one of the largest and most diversified portfolios of energy assets in the United States. In total, the Company owns and operates approximately 71,000 miles of natural gas, crude oil, natural gas liquids and refined products pipelines with associated terminalling, storage and fractionation facilities in 38 states.
Essential Functions:
Maintain and operate custody transfer measurement facilities including tank gauging in compliance with applicable specifications, codes, safety standards and operating procedures.
Perform oil shake outs using centrifuge unit.
Perform density verifications using a Hydrometer
Perform calibrations, inspections and maintenance of all instrumentation related to quality and quantity determination, (BS&W oil cards).
Witness meter performance verifications performed by company or third party contractors, as needed.
Maintain, operate, troubleshoot and repair measurement equipment, including: Micro motion products (Bluehead 2700 / 5700), Fisher ROC 800L, Omni & Spirit flow computers, Coriolis & Pd meters, samplers, and other peripheral measurement-related devices.
Maintain radio communications on measurement skid.
Understand system gain/loss balances, etc.
Assist with facility construction and modifications, understanding the impacts as they relate to the measurement equipment & balances.
Assist with internal and external measurement audits.
Collect oil samples in compliance with company safety and industry guidelines.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Detailed knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT, RRC, OSHA, NEC, AGA, API and GPA requirements and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interface with customer base.
Required Education or Minimum Level:
High school diploma or general equivalency.
Must possess excellent math skills.
Some college or technical trade school preferred.
Experience:
5+ year's industry related liquid measurement experience preferred, Crude oil.
Knowledge of meter provers, (conventional ball provers, piston provers).
Minimum 3 years' experience in measurement (volumetric, meter based measurement systems, coriolis meters, positive displacement meters, etc.)
Minimum 3 years' experience with flow computers, (OMNI, ROC, Spirit, Process Logic Controllers)
Software Knowledge:
PC skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
Physical Requirements:
Exposure to hazardous conditions, adverse weather, cramped conditions.
Some heavy lifting required.
Walk, stand, kneel/stoop and drive for extended periods.
Subject to 24 hour call out 7 days per week with possible extended workdays.
Driving Requirements:
Must have a proven safe driving record

Must be able to demonstrate sound judgment with ability to make decisions and take corrective actions when problems are detected
Ability to maintain and promote good working relationships within a team environment
Possess a strong commitment to personal and job safety

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
